Professional Training

IRCAM offers a range of training modules, tailored to different levels from beginner to advanced, that let participants discover and understand software for musical creation. Season 2015-2016Professional Training

While IRCAM's principle mission is to ensure the relationship between musical creation and scientific research, the educational facet is no less important. IRCAM remains at the forefront of computer-music training. Its Cursus program is a reference in the professional training of young composers.

The institute is also committed to advanced programs in collaboration with the École supérieur des Beaux-Arts Le Mans (ESBA Le Mans), L'École national supérieur de création industrielle (ENSCI), and the Laboratoire d'Acoustique de l'Université du Maine (LAUM) for the Master's degree in sound design and with the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UMPC) and Télécom ParisTech for the Master's degree in acoustics, sound signal processing, and computer science applied to music (ATIAM). Since September 2014, IRCAM and Sorbonne Universités, the université Paris-Sorbonne and UPMC inaugurate the innovative doctoral program in composition and research.

The institute also hosts a range of educational programs intended for the general public via the Workshops of Creation, a French national cultural outreach program for students from vocational high schools.

In addition to these activities in an effort to assist the public in its understanding of contemporary musical works, every year IRCAM produces several documentary films that explore the making of a work. Today, the Images of a Work collection boasts 19 films.
